The Rise of the Planet of the Grapes

Hello Sweet Peeps!

I’ve healed & overcome so many things since going raw including depression, IBS, period pain etc but it’s time to go deeper, go through the time warp & heal & regenerate issues that resulted from my birth experience. Yesterday I began Day One of an indeterminate flow of time on just grapes, green juices & Heal- All tea. This might sound a bit extreme to some but grapes are incredibly cleansing, incredibly powerful high energy fruit and are able to help the body heal itself on the cellular level. The green juices are also incredibly alkalising. So yesterday I drank one litre of greeeeeen juice made from apples, lemons, celery, ginger, baby spinach & parsley and I ate about 2kg of green seedless grapes. I also drank a cup of Heal-All tea and used it as a mouthwash on the three occasions that I cleaned my teeth. The Heal-All Tea contains equal parts of: marshmallow root, plantago major, burdock root, comfrey leaf, comfrey root, chaparral & black walnut hulls.  Today, so far, I have had 1 litre greeen juice with apples, lemon, celery, cucumber, ginger, Egyptian spinach. And I just finished 750g of red flame seedless grapes.

So that’s what I’m going to be doing everyday for as long as my body desires :)

In other news, I haven’t been around here much because I’ve been busy studying with Dr Robert Morse through his International School of Detoxification (www.naturesbotanicalpharmacy.com) and gaining certification as a Detoxification Specialist AND I’ve been busy formalizing & setting up my coaching service at www.rafaelvitality.org!

The Rafa’El Vitality site has a separate blog (on the Resources page) on which I will update recipes, articles & other news such as challenges etc. this blog I will continue to use to update my progress on these crazy cleansing adventures as well as general stuff about my world.

In the meantime, get stuck into more fruit & veg.

peace, Michelle xo

Sometimes I wonder…

…about things. All sorts of things. I don’t so much wonder about the state of the world or why it is so or what is going to happen. I already know the answers to those. Rather I begin to wonder, putting two and two together. Where NH and Dr Robert Morse agree is that this condition of ‘disease’ (which is an illusion) is simply a result of the cellular condition of the body and the toxic waste dump that we let it become. NH calls this ‘toxaemia’ and infers that it is an accumulation of toxins in the blood. Dr Morse refers to it as ‘interstitial lymphatic constipation’. He simplifies it magnificently in my opinion. The blood stream is the kitchen, the blood carrying nutrient to fuel the cells. The lymphatic system is the sewerage system. This is where all the undigested, unconjugated, unfiltered crap and metabolic waste from our poor diets and lifestyles get stored in readiness to be dealt with and eliminated from the body. However, if we CAN’T eliminate it because we a) continue piling on the junk and b) the acids (‘acidosis’) that are created due to the stagnant lymph are damaging the cells in the organs responsible for elimination then it’s a catch-22 and we get backed up (constipated) and this condition of acidosis results and it DAMAGES OUR CELLS..and this is what ALL ‘disease’ is. Just damaged cells (and therefore damaged DNA).

How Interesting. So my wonderings began then to meander in this direction > consuming a high fruit, low fat diet is FABULOUS in and of itself and will most definitely allow the body to heal and if we add in movement will allow the lymph to begin to move and clear out. But this can take YEARS. And I wonder if many of the issues that newbies face when they jump from SAD to LFRV(raw frugivore) has to do with this stagnant lymph and acidosis?  It makes sense to me that the cravings people experience are just a result of this interstitial constipation because the stuff is STILL IN THE SYSTEM. It also makes sense to me that many newbies put on weight or experience digestive issues or bloating, because the GIT has been damaged by the acidosis and the stuff that damaged the GIT cells is STILL IN THE SYSTEM. And when I really think about it, there is no such thing as deficiency but simple cellular damage. It makes more sense to me that the adrenals are damaged by this acidosis causing the classic and extremely similar signs of B12 deficiency than any actual deficiency.  On that note I do find it interesting and slightly bemusing that a few frugivores out there actively promote shooting up synthetic b12 but have issues with herbs. HERBS! PLANTS!!! WHAT THE FRUIT ARE YOU EATING? Anyhoo. Each to their own. I for one can attest to the fact that since I have been moving my stagnant lymph and tonifying and regenerating other supporting organs with specific herbs my commitment and experience with High fruit, low/no fat raw vegan diet has become a HELL OF A LOT EASIER. (Don’t take offence at that. There is no such thing as hell. It was a corruption of the word Sheol and Gehenna which mean grave and garbage dump respectively. It’s all good.)

Again, I reiterate, I could have done this with diet alone. But I think in the current world we live we obviously need the extra help. I know I have.  Cellular detox (because this is what it really boils down to) generally will take a lifetime regardless if you use herbs or not, depending of course on the quality and quantity of life you led before you came to this health revolution.

Be your own research lab, prove all things, work out your own salvation.

Peace be with you xo

Clarity & season’s greeting ;)

Hello Hello,

“What? season’s Greetings? Already?!” I hear you say. Well, not the way you’re thinking. Those of you who know me as the Messianic Love Jedi that I am will know that we’ve just concluded the Spring (Southern Hemisphere)/Autumn (northern hemisphere) Festival season. That is, we’ve just raced through Yom Teruah (The Feast of Trumpets), Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) & Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles) & The 8th Day. So a busy busy time that has also been VERY spiritually rewarding. This festival season looks forward to an approaching time of redemption, reconciliation & the reign of true & pure Peace on Earth. Much Joy. Bliss!

Physically, I’m shaking up some paradigms again & have embarked on a detoxification & rejuvenation plan to deal with the sins of the past.  So three weeks ago I had a big wake up call. I had indulged a couple of times at the raw cafe and my gallbladder threatened to throw in the towel. I woke up one morning in excruciating pain around my hepatic flexure. I was bloated, I had pain in my upper back and shoulders and I was acutely aware of inflammation in my gallbladder. I realised that it had probably been inflamed for a very long time as it tried to deal with the fats that I couldn’t actually digest. And it was the cause of my chronic upper back pain. Sigh.

warning: what i am about to disclose is NOT endorsed by Natural Hygiene principles but this, in my opinion, was an emergency situation and hence the reason my paradigms are shifting, evolving once again. So I felt led to have a colonic. (Shock, horror!) So I went and had it done and released 3kg of gas that had been obstructed in the ascending colon/hepatic reflex by my inflamed gallbladder. How embarrassing. But WOW did I feel good afterward.  I find it interesting how during the different epochs of life where a major physical/mental/emotional/spiritual growth period occurs it is almost as if we are guided to certain people or information. I feel that this has occurred again here as I have been led to Dr Robert Morse, a true naturopathic healer. through 40 years of clinical experience, he simplifies health and ‘disease’ to basically being down to acidosis (aka ‘toxaemia’ in NH) & a constipated lymph system. He advocates a high fruit raw vegan diet & lifestyle & specific herbs to aid detox & regeneration. This REALLY resonated with me because this is my background. I do have a soft spot for herbs (that also isn’t NH) & I do believe that they are nourishing whole foods. This is what I’m currently consuming to allow my body to heal itself;

breakfast: 700mls  Greeen juice – apples, lemon, ginger, celery, cucumber, dandelion leaves, kale, baby spinach, parsley.

snacks/lunch/dinner: as much fruit as I care for – mainly melons, blueberries, mangoes (yay!), pineapple.

and a herbal tea 2x/day for my lymphatics, kidneys, adrenals, liver/gallbladder & gut/bowel.

I feel wonderful! It was interesting that after the colonic and the ‘obstruction’ has been healing, mental/emotional ‘obstructions’ have dissolved as well. I now have more clarity in the direction I want to go in, in terms of helping people. I will post more about this a.s.a.p.

Many Blessings xo

I LOVE GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!

I know I know I’ve been a way for a few days and now I’ve lost count what day I’m up to in the challenge…which I AM still doing. But I have good reason. I’ve been doing a 7 day Green Love FeAST. What’s that, you ask? Well it’s basically green juices and green smoothies for seven days. I did this in lieu of a water-only fast which I feel I would still like to do at some point in the future because I had a few issues that I would like to resolve..sooo juice/smoothie feasting was the next best thing and the most practical for me at this point in my life.  My daily ‘eats’ looked like this;

* water on waking then all over dry skin brush and shower

* 600mls green juice – this alternated between watermelon/mint & apple/pear/ginger/kale

*2 litres Green Smoothie – mango/banana/cucumber/sunflower sprouts/baby spinach or 1 head Cos lettuce/water

* 600mls green juice – apple/pear/kale or silverbeet or chard or spinach

*600mls green juice – apple/pear/broccoli/mint

* 2litres Green Smoothie – dates/banana/celery

* 500mls fresh young coconut water

I have also been averaging to get to bed by 9;30pm every night. I did two detox baths during this time. This involved soaking in a hot tub that I had mixed in a cup of a detox blend of dead sea salt/kelp/bentonite clay/dulse and I did my fruity facial at the same time. Ah BLiSs. I walked along the beach three times during the love feast. Ironically, Penny got a cold and didn’t feel well enough to walk so I forwent the early morning movement in favour of savouring a sleep in where I didn’t get up til 9:30am. I woke up most mornings feeling refreshed and rested.

So anyway tonight marks the end of my seven day journey to green heaven. I would LOVE to keep going as I was, however I have decided to use the routine I got into as a base to rebuild my eating on. I think it is very easy to overlook the importance of Greens, particularly when one is super enthusiastic about fruit and is focussing on meeting the calorie quota. Greens are HUGELY important and I’ve since realised that I should be consuming greens either with or after nearly every fruit meal if possible. Greens provide nourishing minerals. Over the course of this week of greens my skin has cleared and is beginning to glow, I have lost an inch off my waistline and I feel grounded and clear. Even moreso than before. So I’m aiming to now eat somewhere along the lines of;

* on waking – water, dry skin brush, shower.

*Breakfast –  Greeen juice + either a melon or two or WHOLE oranges.

*Brunch – either a green smoothie or a mono-meal of fruit + cucumber & lettuce

*Elevenses – green smoothie or fruit

*Lunch – fruit meal or green smoothie (depending on what I had for brunch & if I had time to have elevenses)

*Afternoon tea – green juice + fruit mono-meal

*Dinner – large garden salad or non-sweet fruit meal with greens. On special occasions I will have something gourmet (because in the spirit of total transparency I am a total foodie, I LOVE working kitchen alchemy & I LOVE going to the raw cafe here on the Gold Coast).

*Dessert – fresh young coconut water. Just ’cause I LOVE it and I can.

So there you go.

Get your green on. xo

days 24 &25: here comes the sun & INSPIRED MUCH.

Hi all, have been really enjoying the GREEEEEEEEEN SMOOOOOTHIES. Yesterday I enjoyed another spinach/sunsprouts/cucumber/mango/pineapple/banana smoothie. MMMMMMMMMMMMM. Today it was spinach ( I have a whole bag I have to use up)/sunsprouts/cucumber/banana/persimmon. I have really grown to LOVE presimmons. But not as much as Mangoes. MMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Also enJOYed a nice walk on the beach again this morning and the SUN came out again. It is SO UPLIFTING when the Sun rises over the ocean.

So, many of you may be aware that the Woodstock Fruit festival has been taking place this last week. Oh How I would have LOVE to have gone. Next year I WILL be there! In the meantime Dan the Man McDonald from the Liferegenerator site has been taking random vids of the peeps who are speaking and attending. If you are in any doubt that this way of living (and eating!) works please take a look at these videos. Woodstock has just been home to the biggest collection of the healthiest people on the planet. Here are some vids of these incredibly inspiring people. Thanks Dan!

PEACE, LOVE, & EAT YOUR FRUIT :-D xoxoxoxoxox

okay for some reason, when I preview this post the videos aren’t showing up so check out Dan’s Utube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/liferegenerator?feature=chclk#p/u/0/PjLIGiDKsDo

Days 22 &23: It’s raining Greeeeeeeeen

Hey peeps,

So this morning saw a half-arsed attempt to resume our dawn walk on the beach after being totally rained out yesterday morning. The half-arsed bit wasn’t our fault though, it was simply a response to this CRAZY weather. We have a week or so until it officially becomes Spring here and it feels like Winter is trying to have the last word before it gets shoved off the stage. Anyway after a couple of false starts this morning we braved the grey skies and ducked out between the intermittent deluge. I wore a plastic poncho that looked more like a garbage bag and Penny wore an all-weather jacket that we now know is NOT water proof and I never held any expectations for mine. We managed to get in 20 minutes of power walking from the cover of one tree to the next (we decided to walk on the esplanade instead of the sand) before we gave up all together and the incontinent skies told us to go home.  I got home & jumped straight into a nice warm bath. Well, that’s not entirely true. I had to run the bath first and while that was happening I gave myself a nice invigorating all over dry skin brush. I used to dry brush every day but gave it up about 9 months ago because 1.) I misplaced my brush somehow and 2.) people were saying that if you were adequately hydrated you shouldn’t need to. Well I decided to try it again and am so glad I did. It will definitely be a stalwart in my daily routine. It felt super invigorating and I noticed that I’ve been weeing a lot more today, possibly because of the movement of lymph. I got my skin brushes from here. There’s also heaps of info on the benefits and the how-to’s.

After my bath I got a really nice surprise when I got a call from the lovely Michele from www.rawfruitarianmichele.blogspot.com  It’s so nice to connect with like-minded folks in ‘real life’ as well as on the forums.

Anyway I’ve decided to do a challenge within a challenge. I need to increase my greens intake so I’m going to make a new smoothie every day from Victoria Boutenko’s book Green Smoothie Revolution.

Yesterday I just had a basic banana/pineapple, cos lettuce/cucumber smoothie (plus a tonne of other fruit throughout the day), today I’ve had:

  • fresh squeezed OJ from 6 oranges
  • Tropical Smoothie (p65) – 4 bananas/1 mango -YAY! The first of the season!/1 inch wedge of pineapple/0.5 cucumber/2 cups baby spinach/water.  Super delish!
  • 15 dried figs ( I was getting my hair done)
  • ‘Radiance’ juice from juice bar – apple/pineapple/acai berries
  • 8 banana/6 date smoothie.
  • and the day isn’t over yet ……
My moves: 20 minute ‘walk’; 45 minutes KY.
And I actually got to bed at 9pm last night. Awesome!
So today has been really coool.
Stay fruity. xo

Days 18,19,20,21 & 22: Fruit Safari

Hi all! Is it just me or does time seem to be REALLY going WARP SPEED at the moment?? Seriously, the minutes, hours, days, weeks are just FLYING by! I am also finding that I’ve slipped out of my new found groove and I’m pushing the envelope to squeeze in a few extra hours for fiddling about with whatever wants to distract me, particularly over the weekend. This is the challenging part. I also hit my first real food hurdle today when we went to a friends’ wedding. It was a sit down meal with two choices, dead chicken or dead baby sheep :( No fruit or salad in sight so we arranged that I could at least have some veggies. I ended up having a small serving of boiled white rice, about 5 roasted carrot sticks and about 5 roasted string beans and a BREAD ROLL. I wasn’t really thinking in the lead up to this wedding because I was so caught up with the kids activities and relatives visiting and walking and blah blah blah so I didn’t prepare adequately. I did take 10 bananas with me but ate them in the car on the way. It was an hour drive. oh well. I’m not going to beat myself up about this. By the time the meal came round I was starving so I was thankful that at least it was low fat and veggies. Don’t ask me why I ate the bread roll. I was hungry and it was a carbohydrate.

So back in the saddle. We live & learn. I downed about 2 litres of water when we got home though as I realised that I was also quite dehydrated.

Prior to today, amidst the whirlwind of passing time we had an awesome few days of fruit hunting. My in-laws are visiting at the moment and my SIL asked me to get some fruit for her, so the kid and I set off on a fruit safari to acquire  excellent quality local and organic fruit. I picked up some more of those delightful little yellow dragon fruits and more Red Dacca bananas so we have also been feasting on them.

Moves-wise, I have managed to get the usual walk along the beach in but today began a week-long forecast of torrential rain so I’m not sure what our chances of a decent walk will be in the morning. If it rains all week I’m going to devote the entire week to Kundalini Yoga.

Anyhoo. Life is still sweet despite a small curve ball.

xoxo

Day 17: the birthday madness continues & the beauty of fruit.

Aloha peeps! The last four days have been a little crazy and I have been time poor when it comes to cyberspace. I am finding that with the dawn starts I really need to get to bed by 9pm and what with finding time for kundalini yoga and mothering and general household duties, well, there aren’t enough hours in the day. So Eats has been pretty much the same except on Sunday and Monday my staple during the day was dried figs because we went to SeaWorld for Ariel’s birthday and you aren’t allowed to bring outside food in in ‘commercial’ quantities. I figured that they might take issue if I took in 3 kgs of bananas so 1kg of dried figs it was as they fit very discreetly in my back pack. That was Sunday after the kids had swimming lessons..and then Monday because we are slightly mad, we went back again.

The walking has been great every morning although we have noticed that in the last few days the regular crowd hasn’t really been there. I felt a little bit sad by that but this morning most of the familiar faces were there again. I’ve been back into Kundalini yoga every day and still LOVING it and on Sunday I also walked (fueled by figs) into Surfers Paradise from SeaWorld, which I guess is about 3km. I wasn’t wearing my Five Fingers and so got a few blisters but a nice long soak in a hot epsom salt bath that night took care of them.

I’m loving these epsom salt baths as well. Such a nice way to unwind before bed. Last night I also gave myself a fruity facial which I’m committing to doing at least once/week. I made a blend of:

* 1/2 red papaya

* 1/2 avocado

* 1 banana

* 1 kiwi fruit

* 1/2 cucumber

Cleansed my face and neck with coconut oil beforehand and then glooped this blend all over my face and neck. I got the recipe off the internet (but I added the cucumber). I left it on for 20 minutes while I soaked in the tub and then washed it off and applied a tiny bit more coconut oil to my face. It felt dreeeeeeaaaammmy.

The fruity mask also tasted pretty good and it inspired me to whip up some spunky pudding today.

Eats for today:

* juice & pulp of 6 oranges when  got back from my walk.

* Pudding made with 7 bananas, 1 kiwi fruit, handful of raspberries, 1/2 cucumber.

* 8 bananas (mono-meal)

* banana/kiwi/raspberry/cuke pudding (same quantities) – post KY workout.

* large mixed baby greens salad with rich roma tomatoes, cuke, mushrooms, grated carrot and beetroot, red capsicum & fresh basil leaves.

Fruity Love xo

Day Eleven: the best day ever!

Started the day as usual with an awesome walk on the beach at dawn. I’ve mentioned before how much I’m loving this, right? After that also managed to do 2x 20 minute work-outs from Ana Brett and Ravi Singh’s Fat Free Yoga DVD. Yay! getting back on the KY track :-) After we had brekky and what not we all headed down to the best ever pineapple stall and got 3 pineapples and then went to Tropical Fruit World. I bought a kilo of those sweeeeet little yellow dragon fruit as well as 3kg of oranges. ‘Cuz y’all know how much we love our oranges. So I’m talking to the dude about the little dragon fruit and he goes out the back and brings back two dragon fruit vine cuttings so I can grow my own..and they were completely free! SCORE!!!

Now you see them….

Now you don’t ;)

Eats:

  • fresh squeezed OJ from 6 sweet navel oranges
  • 4 large red dacca bananas (mmmmm)
  • 3 yellow pittaya/dragon fruit
  • 7 banana + 6 dates smoothie
  • small handful of local macadamia nuts (eeeeeeeek! Broke my no overt goal :( )
  • 1 large sweet pineapple + 1 cup raspberries
  • DateOrade (7 fresh medjool dates + water)
Also copped a verbal kick in the proverbial nether regions (that all started with the nuts) which has motivated even more to be the best me ever.
Got to bed at 9:15pm but had trouble getting off to sleep so I’m not sure what time it actually was or how long I slept for. Still feeling great :-)
Peace out xo

Days 9 &10: it feels like Hollywood….

Have thoroughly been enjoying my dawn walks along the beach with my bestie. Starting to feel like a local now, especially now that it seems we have joined a little community of regular beach goers at this time of morning. I look forward to jumping out of bed, slipping on the Five Fingers and heading down to the beach to see who is out and about. We’re at the ‘good morning, how are you?’ stage now . Feels really really good :-)

Sleep has also been GREAT and I’m finding it a LOT easier to head to bed around the 9-9:15pm mark without the need to regain any ‘me’ time and spend hours and hours on the internet. My left brain is being deprived a little and my right is overjoyed. Just finished reading ‘Left in the Dark’. Brilliant Brilliant book all about the brain and consciousness and development and fruit.

Anyway, day 9 of the challenge was kinda spent just doing everyday stuff and getting new tyres on the car blah blah blah and eating oranges and bananas. Day 10 however was altogether FUN. Superman bought us all VIP annual passes to MovieWorld, SeaWorld, and Wet n’Wild so as it was the J-dude’s birthday he wanted to go to MovieWorld to ride the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster. So we went there with a big coolerbag of bananas in tow only to find that J is 5cm to short for that particular ride. No worries though, we ended spending most of the time in the little kids section going on those rides. Ariel and I went on this little Road Runner roller coaster and it was a BLAST!  We couldn’t stay very long because the boys play soccer on Wednesday arvo’s but that’s cool ecause now we can go back whenever we want, although on Sunday I believe we’re going to SeaWorld for another birthday :-)

Unfortunately I didn’t get to do any KY over these two days because we just got really caught up with everything else. I really need to do a daily practice though so am re-committing to MAKING THE TIME to do so.

xo
